Lindsay Lohan has had her public highs and lows and this time her comeback will officially be televised. In her new OWN reality show, “Lindsay” her life is documented following her latest (sixth) exit from rehab.
The tasks of Lindsay’s life are simple on the show, sorting through a storage unit and renting an apartment. But the emotions and struggles that accompany the activities are familiar to folks who have had to start over. Objects from her former life are unearthed, reminders of earlier success, like the t-shirts made during the production of the 2004 Mean Girls. Other items demonstrate the disarray of later moments, like the extravagant designer gown she finds shoved in a box without care. In these early days of sobriety Lindsay is forced to confront the damage she’s caused in her life by literally putting things back in order – hanging the dress, folding the shirts with care. This important work is therapeutic.
One things that Lindsay can look forward to, besides sobriety itself, is rebuilding her friendships and a romantic relationship in her new life as a sober person. Creating that network to support her through temptations starts with her sobriety coach and will grow from there. Her fans believe in Lindsay and so do we – warm wishes for her continued success!
